The process

Six steps to a flawless finish

A great finish is made before the first spray. Every step is tuned to the material and to the paint manufacturer's specifications.

  1. 01

    Consultation & inspection

We review the material (metal, plastic or Bakelite), size, environment and the colour and effect you want, then choose the right paint and pretreatment; new parts get an adhesion test on a sample.

  2. 02

    Surface preparation

Metal: degreasing, rust and paint removal, sandblasting and, where needed, phosphating. Plastic: washing, removal of mould-release agents, anti-static treatment, flame or plasma activation and an adhesion primer.

  3. 03

    Application

Metal parts are powder coated with electrostatic guns; plastic parts are sprayed with plastic-specific paints in a clean, dust-free booth evenly, with no runs or brush marks.

  4. 04

    Oven curing

Each part is cured for the right time at a temperature matched to its material from 60 to 200 °C so the coating fully cures and reaches final hardness without warping.

  5. 05

    Quality control

Every layer's thickness is measured, and adhesion (cross-cut test), colour uniformity, gloss and the match to the approved sample are inspected before release.

  6. 06

    Packing & delivery

Once cooled, parts are packed with protective wrapping so they arrive without a scratch.

Materials & coating types

Which coating system is right for your part?

The right coating depends on the part's material and where it will be used. We'll recommend the best option during consultation.

  • Polyurethane powder

    Automotive metal parts & equipment

Very smooth finish with good abrasion and chemical resistance.

  • Epoxy powder

    Indoor, industrial parts, primers

Excellent adhesion, chemical and corrosion resistance; chalks under prolonged sunlight.

  • Polyester powder

Outdoor metal parts, doors, windows, railings

High UV and weather resistance with good colour and gloss retention.

  • Hybrid powder (epoxy-polyester)

    Metal furniture, appliances, shelving

Great decorative appearance at a good price for indoor environments.

  • PP Polypropylene

    Car bumpers, appliance housings, boxes

Low surface energy: without activation and a dedicated primer, paint peels. Flame or plasma treatment plus a polyolefin primer gives full adhesion.

  • PE - Polyethylene

    Industrial parts, tanks, hygiene products

One of the hardest plastics to paint; coated only after careful surface activation, a dedicated primer and an adhesion test on a sample.

  • PA - Polyamide (nylon)

    Technical parts, handles, machine components

PA6, PA66 and PA46, unfilled or glass-fibre-reinforced (10% and 30%). Absorbs moisture and must be dried before painting; on glass-filled grades the paint system is chosen so fibres don't show through.

  • ABS

Appliance & electronics housings, interior trim

The most paintable engineering plastic with excellent adhesion first choice for decorative parts, device housings and vacuum metallizing.

  • PC - Polycarbonate

Covers & shields, lighting & panels, PC/ABS blends

Impact-resistant and sometimes transparent, but sensitive to solvents and stress cracking; painted with compatible paints and scratch-resistant hard coats.

  • Bakelite (phenolic)

Cookware handles, switches & sockets, insulators

A heat-resistant, electrically insulating thermoset; takes paint well after cleaning and light sanding.

Ordering FAQ

Questions about ordering

How do I place a coating order?

Orders are placed on WhatsApp using Saro Coating's phone number. Send a photo, material, dimensions, quantity and colour and we'll reply with price and lead time.

What information do you need for a quote?

A clear photo, approximate dimensions, material (on plastics it's usually moulded in, e.g. >PP< or >ABS<), quantity, surface condition (old paint or rust) and your RAL code or colour sample.

What if I don't know what my part is made of?

No problem. We inspect the part and run an adhesion test on a sample to choose the right preparation and coating system.

Can previously painted parts be recoated?

Yes. On metal, the old coating is fully removed by stripping or sandblasting; on plastic, depending on the old finish, the surface is sanded or the old paint removed so the new coat bonds fully.

Can you do colours outside the standard range?

RAL colours are the most readily available. Custom colours and effects can be sourced; we'll confirm lead time when you order.

Your part. A finish that lasts.
